After ground scraping the cemetery was cleaned up and the graves marked and outlined with bricks and white rocks.

A site marker was placed at the foot of each of the graves in this cemetery.

This memorial is dedicated to those pioneers who paved the way for present and future generations, that their trials and tribulations not go unnoticed and to let all who gather at this place know that they will never be forgotten.

JOHNSON CEMETARY

HISTORY

In February 1997 the headstones of Venie Johnson, Mary Jane White and Humphrey Walter White were the only marked graves at this beginning of the resoration project. Utilizing ground penetrating radar and ground scraping, eleven additional graves were discovered. The cemetary has been enclosed with restoration of existing fences and each grave distinguished with an individual marker.
Many volunteer hours have gone into recognizing the final resting place of those buried here.
