Getting there:
Take tram line 4 or 5 from Centraltirgus (beginning of the line at the market with 5 buildings that look like aircraft hangers) and get off at Kuldigas Iela (you will see the cemetery on the right just before the stop. After you exit the tram, take a right to next street, Hamana Iela and about half way down the street is one of the 3 entrances.
Martin Cemetery was established in 1773 and was originally referred to as Agenskalna cemetery.
After Martina luterâòu baznîca "Martina Lutheran Church" was built in 1852 the cemetery was transferred to the congregation.
The cemetery closed in 1951 and is recognized as a national architectural monument.
