Update: August 29, 2011

There is an Owen Cemetery that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, that is in the McDaniels Township, about 1.5 miles north of Boykin Bridge Rd. This cemetery fits the location for that Owen Cemetery, but cannot be confirmed. The National Register has been contacted and a verbal confirmation was done in 1986 as to the exact location, which is in the same general area of this Owen-Parker Cemetery. (There is also a house listed with the cemetery but the house has been destroyed according to the NR.)

There is evidence however, that there are some burials in this Owen-Parker Cemetery, that cannot be found, and are some years later than the people buried here. An attempt is being made to determine if there are two Owen Cemeteries in the McDaniels area (5-6 miles south of Roseboro on 411) or if this is the Owen Cemetery that is on the NR list.
