The United Presbyterian Columnbarium was constructed and dedicated in 1988. The Memorial Garden was built upon on Historical site. Cecil J. Osborne, a former city engineer, gave a beautifull plaque designating this garden as an historical place.
Historical Site
This site served as the city's first burial grounds. The Military cemetery for Fort Morgan, (1864-1868), was located here east of the old fort. Not only were soldiers buried here but also civilians traveling along the South Platte Trail. Records from that time do not mention the names of those who were interred. Later the cemetery was used by citizens of the town of Fort Morgan until Riverside Cemetery was established in the 1890's
Milton and Donna Boehm gave benches to the garden. Many People of the parish have donated their time to the Garden Committee. The Memorial Garden is open on Sundays. If anyone wishes to be in the garden during the week, contact the church office.
