Patrick Robertson Cemetery
Randolph County, Missouri, USA
but is difficult to see through the scrub brush. Coming from the north, go down the hill, and the cemetery is about halfway up the next hill. There are corner posts where a fence ends directly across the road from the cemetery.
This is the location of a church marked in this area on the 1910 plat map. I found only
one monument, that of Patrick & Louisa Robertson. It had been previously recorded (undated) by Nellie Dameron Bagby, and she noted that this was the location of a black church which burned. It has been handed down verbally that the bell was heard ringing in Yates as the church burned. She had them listed with the surname of Robinson instead of Robertson, but the dates are the same, so assume it was just an error. She also listed Jack Robinson (Robertson?) and John Hall, both with just metal funeral home markers. Nellie noted that "Langhorns, Terrills, and Paynes are known to be buried here, but no markers".
This cemetery was also recorded in 1982 by Virginia Darr Alexander. In addition to
Patrick & Louisa Robertson, she listed Cortez Robertson (metal marker) and another Patrick Robertson who died in 1858 at 7 months old. She also noted there were several unreadable metal markers as well as a lot of native stones marking graves.
