Route 38 across from the stone house in Mariasville, Venango Co., PA. Also called "Clover Cemetery".
This is a very small (1 acre) cemetery (8 graves left) at the top of a hill, hidden from the road. The only visible sign of the cemetery from the road is a wooden tree trunk that was carved by the owner of the stone house across the street, Joseph Martin Russell. It is 6 feet tall and sits by the road to aid travelers to find the cemetery. When the Methodist Church was torn down, some of the graves were moved to Salem Lutheran Church. This church was sold to the Church of God in 1856 and was abandoned by them in 1858.
This property has been sold to an Amish family. They are nice people but should be asked for access since it is their land.
Photos will follow shortly for all headstones and cemetery markers.
In June 2011, I searched the small corps of trees and found many broken headstones. I will add them as I can.
There are more stones and 2 bases in the woods next to the graves.
I am researching to find the records of this church. I have located some of them in the Salem Lutheran Church.
