The entire town was moved to higher ground before dedication of Kingsley Dam in 1941, and Lemoyne Cemetery was flooded by 22 mile long Lake McConaughy. The Cemetery is now on a hill on the north shore overlooking the lake. There are only 9 markers that predate the move, with many of the original graves most likely marked by wooden crosses. The cemetery is well maintained and still accepting burials.
