"A little known Perkins Cemetery is located at Laneville in a pasture which faces the road leading to Minden. Colonel John Pruitt originally owned the land on which this graveyard is situated. Col. Pruitt established a plantation and built his home there c1852. After The Civil War, he sold the property to his daughter, Elizabeth and her husband James T. Irwin. Hardy Perkins purchased it from the Irwins. Later the Irwins bought the land back."
"The Perkins Family Cemetery is enclosed by a wrought iron fence and is shaded by several trees. Seemingly, there are four graves. The inscriptions on two stones are legible. A third stone is broken and a portion missing — part of the inscription can be read. The fourth grave does not have a marker. A depression in the ground marks the place." (excerpt from the book, "Descendants of Samuel, James, and Martha Perkins", by Dorothy Neblett Perkins, 1999.)
