There are only two graves in this cemetery, the one for James Wood Lipscomb, and another possibly for an unknown infant. The cemetery is located east of U. S. Highway 29 southwest of Gaffney, SC in Cherokee County and about 3-4 miles east of Interstate 85. Traveling from Gaffney on U. S. Highway 29, go south to Baker Road. Turn left on Baker Road, go a very short distance and turn right on Sizemore Road. Go about .45 miles to 219 Sizemore Road (on left). Turn left into the driveway and proceed about 300 yards directly behind the house to a small knoll in a field. You can drive to the cemetery on an old tractor road that tracks around some woods before reaching the knoll. In this field, the tombstone has a cedar tree (about 8" diameter) on the right side of it and on the left side is a winged elm (about 7" diameter), a poplar tree (about 3" diamter) and a small holly tree (about 1 1/2" diameter). This area is not visible from the paved road unless you are in a strategic position and have binoculars. The property is owned by the Sizemore family. Once you leave the paved road it is best to use GPS coordinates to locate the site. The graves were last visited on August 15, 2011 and a good bit of underbrush and tree limbs were trimmed away to expose a clear view of the tombstone. The small (infant?) stone is nearly buried behind the larger stone.
