Just off the Caprock, east of Crosbyton, Texas, Camp Rio Blanco was established in 1959 and covers 118 acres. J.S. Bridwell and his daughter, Margaret Bridwell Bowdie, gave the land to the Girl Scouts Caprock Council for a camp. The land was originally part of the Two Buckles Ranch owned by the Kentucky Cattle Raising Company.
