Main entrance of NEW HOLY ROSARY CEMETERY located straight back off Pine Street (and Maple Ave. left here where pic was taken) in the Englewood section of Frackville it is surrounded by woods on three sides. Most memorials located to right in picture with more across the lane to left. There are NO memorials in woods as stated by locals for ANY cemetery in this area. A residential area it is close to Anna's Antique's for reference about 8th St. Turn at stop sign on Pine St. and it can be seen immediately. *GPS map indicates Old Holy Rosary/Old St. Joseph cemetery in Altamont section of Frackville.
**Info rec'd from Englewood section caretaker of 37 yrs. confirms this name but no signs exist. Also states some cems do not have any burial information recorded, esp. along Lower level along Maple Ave. which includes St. John's Greek Ukrainian Catholic, St. Joseph's lower, and possibly this one. Main entrance to right barely visible. *THIS cemetery known as the NEW HOLY ROSARY is located in Englewood section of Frackville off Pine St. It can be accessed from Rt. 61 at top of Frackville mountain just outside of that boro limits at the "Y", before passing sewer treatment plant and PPL substation. **Be careful turning INTO Rt. 61 North traffic to get to Pine Street. *There are 9 cems in Englewood section. ***GPS map is INCORRECT showing Old St. Joseph/Old Holy Rosary Cems. that are transcribed as located in Altamont section of Frackville. Only Old HR in Altamont. This one is small, NO signs indicating name exist. Most cems in this section run together. As explained to me via e-mail some of the Catholic churches allowed burials in each others cems before having land of their own, (Annunciation B.V.M.'s might be elsewhere in this section), sometime in the 1930's-early 1940's in Englewood section although not affiliated. *Information rec'd 7/25/2012 from caretaker of Englewood section for 37 years confirms this as NEW HOLY ROSARY. Maple Ave. also divides these from Annunciation B.V.M. and a residential area. It also leads to another lane which seperates B.V.M., St. Michael cems from St. Louis cem.
