The land for this cemetery was set aside by Daniel Stutzman shortly after he acquired the land on April 8, 1839 for a Stuzman burial ground. Shortly after the Civil War, George W. English acquired this property and over a period of time it became known as the English Cemetery. When Pond Creek (which is the Creek that separates the two cemeteries) was too high they would use Pond Creek Cemetery to place their family member for their final resting place. English Cemetery has no fence around it and cattle are permitted to roam. Headstones have been knocked down.

The English Cemetery is located between the cities of Ozark and Altus in Franklin County, Arkansas on West Creek Road, Between River Sand Road and Gravel Road. It is next to the Pond Creek Cemetery across Pond Creek.
