Buckland
Referred to as "G.R.4" in Mass. Vital Records (tan books) "New Cemetery, East Buckland." Located on the west side of East Buckland Road less than a mile north of the intersection of Hog Hollow Road. Rows run north/south with stones facing east/west, most of carvings are on east side of stones.
From History of Buckland by Fannie Shaw Kendrick pub. 1937 pg 78:
In the year 1849, the people in East Buckland chose Levi Sprague, Job Woodward and Richmond Mallory as a committee to by land for a neighborhood Cemetery. To these gentlemen as agents, Oswin Johnson sold, for ten dollars, forty square rods of land just north of the bridge at the foot of Johnson's hill. The association then formed was incorporated and the cemetery has been kept in a very good condition.
Original cemetery is surrounded by stone wall on all sides with picket fence on the east border along the road. A second section has been added to the original layout of 1849 in a similar size and shape, it is located on the north boundry.
