The Schuylkill Church of the Brethren "Big Dam" Congregation, originally met in small meetinghouses. The Old Strubhar Meetinghouse was built about 1865 and named for the Strubhar family who built it. A meetinghouse was dedicated 14 April 1912 in Swopes Valley. Neither of these meetinghouses are used for services.
A larger building housing the congregation was dedicated in 1917, known as the Schuylkill Church of the Brethren.
