Old Palestine Cemetery is located north and west of the intersection of State Road 25 and County Road 300 South (Shilling Road)in Kosciusko County. The cemetery covers a space of about 125' X 200'. For many years it was abandoned but within the past 10 years it has been taken care of and many of the trees and briars that overgrew the area were removed. Dirt has also been brought in to make a slope up to the cemetery. It is believed that a few over 100 bodies are interred in this cemetery. Unfortunately, most of the stones are either missing or damaged. Currently, not one stone stands in this cemetery. The last burial in this cemetery tool place in teh 1870's. One burial of note in this cemetery is that of Isham Summey who plotted the town of Palestine. The grave rows are somewhat hard to decifer, but all odd numbered rows were recorded from north to south adn even numbers from south to north. All this information can be found on the web at:
