Caln Friends Meetinghouse Route 340 at N. Baily Rd., Coatesville, PA 19320(Route 340 is also known as E. Kings Highway) A preparative meeting at Caln was established by Concord Monthly Meeting in 1716 and Chester Quarterly established the meeting for worship later that same year. In 1737, both meetings were transferred to Bradford Monthly Meeting. The Orthodox prep meeting was discontinued sometime after 1940 and the Hicksite prep meeting was first transferred to Bradford-Uwchlan and then discontinued in 1889. Its members were attached to Uwchlan Prep Meeting.The Orthodox Cemetery is across the street.

This is the Old Caln Meetinghouse. The cemetery is within a walled area behind this building. The meetinghouse pictured was build in two sections. The original section in 1726, then the 1801 addition made the building twice as long. The Old Caln Historical Society Museum is housed in a section of the meetinghouse. It contains interesting historical material and some artifacts from members and the property. Open by appt. only. I just happened to catch someone there. The cemetery grounds are kept up well by volunteers.
