This cemetery is also known as "OLD UNION CEMETERY", not to be confused with UNION CEMETERY" on the opposite side of County Route 575. Some records also refer to this site as "Smith's Meeting House". See the close-up of the blue Atlantic County historical marker at the right that is on the side of the road. The older cast metal marker was prepared by the New Jersey Commission of Historic Sites, date unknown, and refers to the site as the "Methodist Union Chapel" and cemetery when incorporated in 1837.
