The oldest legible maker dates to 1754 but older burials are more than likely as pioneer families either buried their loved ones in church burial grounds or if large land owners, in family plots on their land. Irregular surface of the grounds seem to indicate many more unmarked graves exist and the church as always refused permission to dig in the area in fear that old bones would be dug up.
