Ekerö kommun consists of 140 islands and islets in lake Mälaren, the third biggest lake in Sweden. Lovön is situated west of and next to Stockholm, the capital of Sweden.
On the island ’Drottningholms slott’ (castle) was built in 1681, now the home for Carl Gustav XVI and the royal family.
