On July 25, 1939 Sara Jones, who was recording this cemetery for the WPA, wrote, "There are about two hundred graves marked with field stones, some are said to be negro slaves."
The cemetery seems to be regularly mowed at least for all of the marked graves. There is a pile of grave markers near a tree for several graves which are now unmarked. If the above quote about slave graves is true, then all or almost all of them are now unmarked.
