This is how the cemetery appeared for many years, before the outstanding restoration effort of Dale Ray Houseworth.

Cemetery has gone down is recent past. What a shame.

Cattle got into the cemetery a few year back and destroyed many of the stones.

They settled here for two reasons - it's the highest point around, and there is a spring near the foot of the hill. It is still there and can be seen in this picture. It became a stagecoach stop on the way to St. Louis in the early days as well.
