To reach this cemetery, turn off US Rte 2 in East St Johnsbury, cross the river onto East Village Road (TR#4), bear right at the fork, follow this road about 1.1 mi to the "end". There appears to be a left-curve here, but it is actually TR#5, (TR#4 once continued straight thru Blodgett's mailbox into the trees, down the backside of the Moose River, and into Concord, joining Cross Road near the old fairground - it is now discontinued). You can see the cemetery to your left across the field; please walk next to the stone wall when the hay is growing. TR#5 continues a few hundred yards to what was the Edgar O. Cushman house, the place where Mrs. Cushman's grandfather, Alpheus Bugbee of Woodstock, Vt settled in 1797.
This was a family cemetery and is no longer maintained. It was turned over to the town for maintenance in 1980 as it was no longer convient for the family to care for it. However, a lot of work needs to be done to once again put this cemetery "right".
Stone #2.8 is out-of-sequence because the burial took place after the transcript and map were completed in 1980 and registered in the town records.
