Perlina Pond Mason was the wife of John Barney Mason Jr, and daughter of Asahel Pond and Louisa Ward. Asahel and his father, Dan Pond, fought during the Revolutionary War and Louisa's father, William Ward, was also a patriot. The Mason, Pond and Ward families were known for their patriotic service from the early 1600's.
