How to Transcribe Others' Photos:

How to Transcribe My Photos Properly (tips good for everybody's photos too:)

MY GUIDELINES:
(1) Be careful not to create duplicate memorial pages if one already exists. (Find a Grave will suggest memorial pages to you if the deceased's name is recognized and there is already an existing memorial page.)
(2) If memorial page already exists, make sure it's the*correct* one to assign the photos to (check carefully for same name, birth date and death date.) Many people have similar names, especially within families.
(3) *Do not* type names of the deceased in ALL CAPS.
(4) Please DO type the inscription from the grave stones into the inscription field.
(5) Please type the inscription in the language it is shown (don't translate it.)
(6) Utilize the "more options" field at the bottom of the transcribing page, if needed.
(7) Check what you've typed for accuracy. Don't be sloppy.
(8) Do not use text speak abbreviations for anything (like "U R" instead of "you are"
(9) PLEASE put a "." period after a middle initial. I hate it without that.
(10) If you're too busy or too lazy to do a proper effort, please don't transcribe my photos, thanks!

NOTE: If I find you have transcribed several or many of my photos and don't do it properly or if you do a sloppy job, be prepared that I may message you with polite suggestions and requests how to transcribe in the future.
