March 6, 1971, I was the gca controller who I pickeup on radar the flight of two AH1G, Cobra gunships, just west of Khe Sanh, VN. I had radio contact with your flight leader. As I turned your two gunships to final approach and issued descend instructions, I noticed a target peel off (assuming that was your aircraft) to the ENE. I talked your flight lead down to a safe landing. He immediarely came into the gca trailer and asked where his wingman was. I don't remember my response, as we both sat face to face stunned. He left. I am one month younger than you and my sons and I will not give up trying to find you and bring you home.
