Bio

My father was attached to the US Embassy in Canberra, Australia from 1974 to 1977, but was assigned to the USAF Detachment (Det. OLA-61st MAW - Pacific Air Forces) at Richmond Royal Australian Air Force Base, Richmond, NSW, Australia. My brother and sister and I all attended the local high school in the town of Richmond, which I graduated from. When we returned to Travis AFB, California my brother and sister finished high school at Vanden H.S., near the airbase. I attended Solano Community College for 18 months and then I entered the U.S. Coast Guard on December 15, 1978, in the delayed entry program, and went on active duty on January 23, 1979, and retired on February 1, 1999. In the USCG I served on four ships, throughout the Caribbean, the Eastern Seaboard, the West Coast, the North Pacific Ocean from Alaska to Hawaii, and on the Great Lakes, in all that time I only had shore duty twice. In early 2001, I completed my A.A. in Accounting from Shoreline Community College and transferred to Central Washington University for the Fall semester and graduated in 2003 and I received my B.S. in Accounting in early 2004. I was hired by a Seattle accounting firm early in my junior year, and I stayed with it until the Fall of 2004 when I was hired by the State of Washington to investigate financial crimes and fraud. I retired after more than fifteen years of civil service. My wife Carol and I enjoy hiking in the Cascade and Olympic Mountain Ranges and spend the winter months of Seattle in Palm Desert, California and on Maui in Hawaii.
