Some time ago I visited the cemetery in the village of my childhood. Almost my entire family on my mother's side is from there. In the cemetery, I had to realize that there were almost no more graves from our family. Yes, Austrian cemeteries are really short-lived. Graves are often abandoned because no one pays for them anymore. From the graves of my ancestors only the pictures in my head remain.

So I started photographing graves to preserve them for posterity. I am interested in genealogy, especially in researching the origins of my family, for quite some time. Therefore I know what a valuable source gravestones can be.
