Bio

I am a descendant of Mary C. Mock and James Oldham Gill of Kannah Creek, Colorado, Margaret Fletcher and James Sheridan Bruch of Genoa, Colorado, and Arzelda Bowen and John Nolan of Ouray, Colorado. As well as John and Margaret Knight and Penrose and Henrietta Adams of Alabama and Georgia.

I am a native of Denver, Colorado. I spent my early working career as a Cartographic drafter for the U.S. Geological Survey in Lakewood and with Occidental Oil and Union Oil in Grand Junction. Later in my career, I worked at Hewlett Packard as an Industrial Engineer in Fort Collins, CO and worked and retired from Department of Energy as an Engineering Accountant in Loveland, CO.

My husband, Larry, spent his early working career as a Diesel and Hydraulic Mechanic for Wagner Caterpillar in Grand Junction, CO. Later in his career, he worked for Vipont Pharmaceutical and Fiberlok Inc. as a facility maintenance manager in Fort Collins, CO.

Since we retired as we had very little genealogy foundation for our families, we have been busy documenting our families on Ancestry, Find A Grave, and other genealogy sites.

From my genealogy, my family history is that of Colorado ranchers and miners. My great grandparents, the Mocks, the Gills, and the Nolans, were ranchers throughout Colorado. Nepesta (near Pueblo), Kannah Creek (near Grand Junction), and Genoa (near Limon). There were some family members who were miners from Ouray, Colorado. My other side, the Bruchs, were mostly teachers and small farmers in Genoa, Colorado,

From Larry's genealogy, it has quite an interesting family history. His great grandparents, the O'Conners, worked as railroad agents for Southern Pacific for many years around the Tucson area. They were not into cowboys and Indians and cattle like the Pulliams. His other side of the tree, his great grandparents, the Pulliams, were ranchers in Texas and Arizona in late 1800s and early 1900s.

We learn more about American History as we work on our genealogy. We learned about the Sand Creek Massacre, the Pueblo flood in 1921, mining, ranching, and wars and treaties between Mexico and Texas. We are getting quite educated on who our families were as well American History.
