My interest in genealogy began at about age 10. I remember my grandmother telling me the names of my grandfather's grandparents as we were looking at a couple of paintings of them hanging in her entry hallway. Not long after, I was told the story of their journey from Germany to America in 1854 by way of Liverpool, New York, St Louis, and finally Florence, Missouri. I was hooked, and after college, my Grandmother gave me the Family German Bible which was filled with information about several generations of my father's side of the family. It is in her memory that I have started setting up these memorials in the hope that others can find them, discover their ancestors, and their stories, Lest We Forget.
