Bio

NOTE: I will list, on the memorials I maintain, how I or my husband are related to the deceased. Our intent on Find A Grave is to maintain memorials of family loved ones of which we have personal knowledge. We believe this honors our beloved ancestor by ensuring the information on their memorial is as accurate as possible!

Ancestral Names and Locals for Immediate Family:

Wythe/Grayson/Carroll County Virginia – Carrico, Vaughan, Martin, Marlar, Hudson, Hollandsworth, Jackson, Alderman

McCreary/Whitley County Kentucky: Marlar, Hughes,
Cox, Kidd, Asbury, New

Jackson/Macon County Tennessee: Witcher, Sneed,
Kirby, Carver, Hix, Ray, Jenkins, Dalton, Mabery

Leslie/Perry County Kentucky: Huff, Stidham, Howard,
Morris, Wooton, Campbell, Lovins, Begley, Hignite

I believe our greatest responsibility on F.A.G. is to maintain memorials as accurately as possible! It is a pure joy for my husband and myself to look after the legacy of our loved ones who have passed. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have ANY information or stories you would like to share.

We both are lovers of all thing's history related! We enjoy strolling through cemeteries just to read the headstones. They have a story to tell, even if you do not know the individual. So, it is no wonder that we are naturally drawn to genealogy.

I began exploring my own family history many years ago. Just dabbling here and there when time allowed. I have now begun devoting a considerable amount of time to preserving what is known of my familial history while also attempting to fill in some of the voids.

My husband is also working on growing his family tree. This has been challenging since his father and grandparents are all deceased. This has impressed on us the importance of learning your family history while you are young as time can be fleeting! We just assume, naively, that we have all the time in the world.

We enjoy traveling and visiting historical sights and cemeteries. We also enjoy preserving the past by "recycling" items from yesteryear. We have collected antiques since we were first married 28 years ago.
