Bio

I registered with find a grave as a photo volunteer to "pay it forward" after taking a dna test through ancestry, building a family tree and realizing that strangers had created memorials on this site for relatives of mine. In some cases they added obituaries, marriage records, other information, photos of them. And of course grave markers too.

I am so grateful. There were relatives whose names I was familiar with already (Kneevers, Shaw, Burhop and Rutkauskas, Bubnis on my maternal side; Hermann, Felzman, Persteiner, Ullmann and Schaller on my paternal side) but learned of many I didn't know of before. Most notably up my paternal grandmother's Schaller branch. Additionally I learned details of those I was already familiar with. And found more relatives.

I did some photos when I first signed up but up until recently I hadn't done any in almost a year. I have been doing photos the last 3 weekends, as I write this on 4/20/20. It's a good activity to get out of the house and not have to worry about social distancing.
