I am a retired U.S. Army helicopter pilot now living in Central Texas for over 20 years. During the 1950’s & 1960’s I lived in central Missouri where many of my ancestors and family members can be found.
My primary area of interest is my own family name of “Millam”, starting with Joel R. & Rachel H (Thomas) Millam who migrated from Virginia to the Pike County Missouri area during the mid-1800’s. From that time on, the last name of most, but not all, of their descendants is spelled MILLAM with two “L’s” instead of one.
Other last names that can be found in my family tree are: Baker, Davidson, Prior, Hersom, Vining, and Milam.
I have traced my heritage back to Thomas Milam (1716-1775) who lived in Bedford, Virginia Colony before the Revolutionary War.
