Find a Grave ID

Bio

I am a volunteer contributor to Find A Grave and know very few of the individuals whose records I have created and manage. I visit cemeteries as time permits. In doing so, it is my goal to provide grave site information which may not be readily accessible to distant relatives and friends.

You may request additional information be inserted into a record I maintain, such as the linking of relative's record, the posting the death notice/obituary or adding missing information. If any information is incorrect, please let me know and I will make every effort to make the correction. I will also gladly transfer any of these records to a family member upon request. Any photos I have taken may be used without my permission to assist with your family history documentation.

I am relatively new to genealogy and do not have a great deal of experience at the research end of it. When asked where to look for a particular individual's history, I have found for those having lived in the United States, the U.S. Census, individual state's death index records, and other family member obituaries may offer helpful information. In one instance, a military enlistment record provided the mother's maiden name and middle initial.

I became fascinated with my own family's history after learning of my great-grandfather leaving his country for the States and being unable to read or write. He was categorized among a race of immigrants as seen as being drunkards and brawlers. Many times in history it takes either desperation or courage to make a life changing choice. In his case, I think it was both. Such occasions may allow the person's pursuit of better but yet unrealized hopes and dreams to be witnessed. Without his decision to live in the States, I would not be alive today. I am grateful to those who have helped me more easily draw out my family's history and hope that I am doing the same for others. Paying it forward, so to say.

Best wishes on your hunt for historic family treasure.
