I live in Washington, D.C., across from the Armed Forces Retirement Home and a short distance from Rock Creek Cemetery. I'm currently working my way through Rock Creek Cemetery by photographing each section. Contact me if you need a photograph from a section I haven't documented yet.

When taking photographs I have a duel goal. The first is a legible inscription (if possible) as I consider it a primary source record. I will frequently visit a hard to photograph grave at different times of day, different light, and different weather conditions hoping to get the best possible (readable) photo. My second goal is a well centered and attractive photo. This is easier to do.

Lastly, I think it is important to include Section and Lot number when known and the GPS coordinates. My goal here is to help those visiting a gravesite to find it quickly. Based on my own experience, I know how frustrating it can be when you know a grave exists but are unable to locate it during a cemetery visit.
