Unsourced edit suggestions will be declined if I cant find a record or a verified source is not provided. Family trees are not considered a record or a verified source. Simply stating that you reviewed a document on a family tree is insufficient. For example: if you see an obit attached to a family tree and that's your source, I will need to see the obit. One simple way to achieve this is to treat the obit image like you would a photo and upload it to the memorial until I can examine it, then remove it if you choose. Otherwise the edit will likely be declined. Any objections to this should be directed through Findagrave staff.

Transfers: The Findagrave guidelines for transfers are not rules. If they were rules they would be designated as such.
My current position on transfers is a memorial is better managed by someone who cares most about the accuracy of the information on that memorial. In most cases that means with a family member. I will transfer a memorial to a family member if I'm not a family member. Exceptions will be considered.

The grave is a stargate to our ancestors: genealogy is our playground; cemeteries our sandbox.

Those who memorialize the soon to be forgotten hold a special place in the afterlife. No grave left behind.

Reminder: Be sure to link parents and spouses memorials if available. One day everyone will be linked here on Findagrave. One big happy family.

Direct descendant of Mayflower Pilgrims:
John Alden and Priscilla Mullins
William Mullins and wife Alice
William Brewster, wife Mary
Love Brewster
Stephen Hopkins
Constance Hopkins
Richard Warren and his wife Elizabeth Walker (Elizabeth Walker Warren arrived with her children 3 years later aboard the Anne). Other ancestors aboard the Anne: Robert Bartlett and Mary Warren, John Faunce and Patience Morton with her parents George Morton and Juliana Carpenter, Thomas Clark, Nicholas Snow.

Hello Folks,
I've recently started connecting all my family memorials together in all branches of my family. I would like to thank all the members I've suggested edits and transfers from. Most everyone has been very helpful, respectful and have maintained my families memorials very well. A special thanks to Beverly Winship for her help and all the good folks at the Unity Historic Society for the outstanding work on preserving my families history. The best historic society in Maine in my opinion.

Photos of Hezekiah and Caroline Hunt, Johnson and Alice Hunt provided with permission for me to add to Findagrave by Lillian Haynes - Family Search Member. A special thanks to Lillian as well.
