Find a Grave ID

Bio

I've been working on my family tree and my husband's since 2012. It has been so helpful to find the pictures of headstones through Find A Grave. In one case finding the memorial online and contacting the cemetery was pivotal in establishing the true identity of one of my husband's ancestors found through a dna match. I live very near to Oak Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Benton County Oregon and walk through it frequently. I'm happy to take pictures of headstones there. I have documented all of the graves in "Baby Land" that I could identify through cemetery records and walking the area. All but 10 or so have a memorial page on Find a Grave, and if they have a headstone it is photographed and posted. I'm trying to find and post links to the parent's graves or names. Its sad to find a grave with a lovingly chosen inscription on the headstone but no idea of the child's family. (See my virtual cemetery "Baby Land"). When I find a grave that needs a memorial I set it up and manage it, using Ancestry.com to do some research. Mostly these have been graves of family members near graves that are already part of the database. Adding links to spouses and parents is a priority. Also determining the maiden name of married women, so they can be more easily located for genealogical research. If I'm managing a memorial to your family member just let me know your relationship and I'm happy to transfer. If I've taken a picture of a grave marker of your family member you are welcome to use it in any way you wish.
