Bio

I am a descendant of Michael and Mary (Bales) Karns and am the 6th generation to live on our family's farm (Whistle Creek Farm) that was homesteaded / pre-empted in 1845. Michael and Mary came to the Platte Purchase section of what is now NW MO soon after it was opened to settlement in 1837. They traveled in covered wagon from Lee County, Virginia, along with several of their children and settled near the old Indian Agency - what is now known as Agency, MO. As time went on and their family grew, the family's land holdings expanded into the areas north of Agency, west of Easton, MO and east of Saxton, MO. My older brother, Frank Landis Weaver (Lanny), had done quite a bit of research on our family prior to and in the early days of the internet. I am currently trying to upload his records to several platforms in order to preserve his research work. Most of our immediate family, on the Karns and Landis sides, are buried in the Karns and Ebenezer cemeteries south of US HWY 169 - SE of St. Joseph, MO in Buchanan County.
