I live in the village of Ramsbury, Wiltshire, England.
Recently I was asked to help complete a task that has been ongoing here for about 40 years led by Ronny Price. That is the recording of the information on the gravestones in the village churchyard. There is now a paper register produced by Jane Handford, of the nearly 1900 memorials, which is going to be placed inside the church for visitors. My task has been to place these details on the web to allow wider access. I decided to add them to the existing Find A Grave cemetery record.
We chose to live in this village about 40 years ago purely because it fitted in with where I needed to live for a new job. Recently as part of the genealogical research I was doing, I was amazed to discover that I had ancestors who lived in Ramsbury in the 18th century and who are buried in the village churchyard, although without memorials.
