Interest in the homesteading time frame for northeast Montana has lead to researching our family history.

My paternal and maternal grandparents homesteaded in the broader Dane Valley community (W-SW & E-SE of McCabe) in the early 1900's.

I grew up in the area in the mid-1900's (50's & 60's) on the family farm and around Culbertson.

Other family homesteaded in Kearney and Custer Counties in Nebraska.

I'm currently researching family ties to Illinois (Chicago / Lake County), Iowa (Clinton / Grand Mound / Ringsted ), Nebraska (Minden / south of Mason City / Bradshaw / Hampton / Blair / Omaha), Texas, California (San Diego / Los Angeles / Alameda County / etc.), Colorado, Montana, Denmark and Germany.
