I caught the genealogist bug at a young age, totally fascinated. None of us had much help back in the 1980s, before the internet. Fortunately my Dad and Aunt Phyllis were infected as well, and though time has passed, my interest has not.

I know I must idealize my ancestors, because I love them unconditionally, yet they are only human.

I've made 3 trips to Scandinavia and 2 to the British Isles. I'm a Mayflower descendant, with ancestors in the American Revolution and Union Civil War. Whoopie. Some of the DNA tests have exposed my deeper roots in Europe and the Middle East. I love to look at artifacts from those areas knowing my ancestors were part of that.
