Bio

I live in Patton Township, Centre Co., Pennsylvania, but was born and raised in the Harrisburg, PA area. My German, Swiss, and Scots-Irish roots on my mother's side are deeply established in the then "frontier" of Montgomery, Berks, Chester, Dauphin, Cumberland, Perry, and Adams Counties, PA. On my father's side, I am a proud second generation American, my grandparents having emigrated from Galicia, Austria-Hungary (now western Ukraine) prior to WWI and settled in the Philadelphia area.

I had always been interested in family history as a child, and enjoyed the stories my grandmothers related of their early years, accompanying them to visits of the family cemeteries, and drives by the old homesteads around south central PA. More organized genealogical research began about 30 years ago when I attended a family reunion with descendants of my great-grandparents William Harry & Christiana (Lebo) Grove, and subsequently took frequent advantage of the pre-internet genealogical resources of the State Library in Harrisburg, as well as many of the county courthouses.

Now retired, and still living in central PA, I am willing to fulfill requests for grave photos under the following conditions:
1. Distance or other limitations (e.g. age, disability, transportation) prevent the requester from visiting the cemetery personally.
2. The request is based on reasonable evidence that the deceased was actually buried in the cemetery.
3. The requester has not already personally searched the cemetery without success, and is simply looking for someone else to search again.

Feel free to use any photos I've placed on memorials for whatever constructive and respectful purpose you like.
