Bio

My name is Nancy Clifton and I am a wife, mother, grandmother, retired elementary school reading teacher, and avid genealogist. I was very pleased to find this site and appreciate all the people who have taken the time to go to cemeteries, take pictures, and document history. I am a proud Texan whose ancestors came here in the early 1800's and helped establish the Republic of Texas! My 3rd great grandparents, Joseph Newman and Rachel Rabb Newman, came with Stephen F. Austin's original 300 settlers.

Names I research on my side are Newman, Rabb, Smalley, Elam, Rice, Howard, Baker, Courtney, Hawley, Garey, Jones, Modrall, Winn, Burks, Hodges, and Morgan.

My husband is Leldon L. Clifton and the names we research on his side are Clifton, Rector, Williams, Tillman, Ezell, Cochran, May, and Tate and Walton.

I am willing to share any information I have and would be interested in hearing from anyone also researching these names.
