My name is Chris Schmidt. I live in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia. I am more than happy to take photos in the local area, but I don't think Find A Grave has too many Aussie members!

I have been researching my family history actively since 2001, but I have always been interested since a teenager. My interest was nurtured as a child by spending many hours sitting with my grandfather listening to his to his stories.

I have relatives in the U.S....via the SCHWAB family which emeigrated to Pennsylvania and became known as SWOPE in the U.S. They are descended from Ulrich RENZ III and his wife Anna nee MOEGENHARDT as is my dad. From mums side, her maternal grandfather Georg KOCH grew up in Medina, Orleans, New York before coming to Australia as a Lutheran Minister for the Missouri Synod.

My Australian lines include KOCH, KAPERNICK, KUMNICK, and BEUTEL- actually they all have members of the same family that also went to the U.S.

I now do professional genealogy research with my mine areas of experitise being German immigration to Queensland and South Australia, as this is where I have the most experience tying in with my genealogical research.
