Bio

I was born (1943) in Mineral Wells Texas and lived there most of my life. I met my wife, Sharon Renfrow while we were attending Hardin Simmons University, in Abilene Texas. We were married in the University Baptist Church, Fort Worth Texas on May 25, 1963. Upon graduation from HSU in Abilene Texas, we made our home in Mineral Wells, Texas, where I worked at Fort Wolters for the Federal Government and Sharon taught school in Mineral Wells. My wife Sharon and I also lived in Tokyo Japan from 1991 - 2000. We ultimately returned to our home in Mineral Wells for a couple of years and we then relocated to Colorado Springs, Colorado. We continue to return to Mineral Wells to visit our son Cary Scott and his family.

I became interested in our family history and began doing family research. This led to the find-a-grave website where I have been connecting family and friends to their past relatives. It has been a very rewarding effort and requires quite a bit of research.

I have known a lot of people in Mineral Wells as my mother Sarah F Scott was the City Clerk there for 35 years. That allowed me to meet and make many friends throughout the city. I am attempting to leave messages on many of their gravesites as my memory is very vivid (it is like a picture had been taken and held in my head all those years).

My grandfather, Charles D Ingram, was manager of the Baker Hotel laundry from its opening until he retired in the late 1950s. I was able to run around all over that hotel and remember it fondly.

Should anyone wish to know more about the Baker Hotel, Crazy Hotel, or other old buildings (standing or demolished) in Mineral Wells just send me a message and I will reply. This also applies to many of the citizens of past years.
