I was born at the Methodist Hospital in south Dallas, Texas. Growing up I lived in Dallas, Oak Cliff, Mesquite and South Garland. After graduating college I moved to Addison. I have a younger brother (Duane) and a sister that is five years younger than me (Delaina). My parents have since retired and moved to Lake Bob Sandlin near Pittsburg, Texas in an area where my mother grew up as a child.

Married the former Miss Melinda Maxine Vaughn on July 17, 1982 in San Augustine, Texas (the birthplace of Texas). We were college sweethearts when we attended Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. We both graduated in December of 1981. Melinda has a Bachelors of Education and I have a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science.

Shortly after we married we moved to Alabama and lived there for 10 years before moving back to Austin, Texas. I also lived in Chicago, Illinois for 3 and a half years between my 6th grade and my freshman year in high school. My family moved back to Texas in 1974.

Melinda and I live in Lago Vista, Texas where we are often out on Lake Travis either kayaking or sailing. Other times I will be scuba diving in the lake while Melinda is fishing.

We are active members of The Church at Canyon Creek.
