I am the Great Granddaughter of Nellie Jane Pitchford Hickey George Alexander Berry and Vinson Cummninham I am researching my Pitchford Berry Cunningham Crate and Kirkpatrick history.
I now reside in Franklin County, Georgia and have been researching my family history in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Kentucky Illinois, Missouri, Texas Colorado and Oklahoma
Nellie was the daughter of Peter Louis and Susan Love Pitchford.
Peter Louis was the son of Augustine and Mary Keele Pitchford
In May 1906 Nellie and her husband William Hickey and their five children traveled by covered wagon from Greene County, Illinois to Davenport, Indian Territory, (now Lincoln County) Oklahoma.
n about 1912 they moved from Lincoln County to Sumner County, Kansas where they remained for a few years. After their children were grown, Nellie and William departed ways but never divorced. In the 1920 US Census, Nellie resided in Lincoln County, Oklahoma where she remained until her death.
William died in 1929 in Oklahoma City Oklahoma County, Oklahoma and Nellie lived with her granddaughter, Thelma Berry Cunningham and husband, Don in Stroud, Oklahoma. until her death in 1964. William and Nellie are buried in the Davenport Cemetery, Davenport, Lincoln County, Oklahoma. All five and their children are also buried in the Davenport Cemetery, Davenport, Lincoln County, Oklahoma.
