If I send a correction or any miscellaneous information to a page you manage, I am genuinely trying to help. I am not out to cause trouble and I'm not disparaging the valuable contribution you've made by submitting the page in the first place. My only interest is providing accurate details if they are missing or if they are possibly incorrect. In the latter case, if there is a discrepency that is not accounted for by an obvious typo or similar, I will generally use the Edit tab to send a suggestion, discussing the discrepency with you. I promise I am not trying to insult you by doing this, so please take anything from me in the spirit of assistance it's intended to be.

In the event that I provide information that perhaps does not reflect the deceased in the best light, again, I am not trying to throw mud and cause trouble. I only do so to explain how I arrived at my conclusions. I have a criminal ancestor myself who was transported to Tasmania and died there shortly after his six year sentence was up, so my family isn't holier-than-thou, nor do I claim it to be.

I say all this, because I've come across several people on the internet over the years who have taken offence at my emails. I don't know if it's my style of writing or if I'm too direct/abrupt, or what, but the distinct impression is that they think I'm trying to cause trouble and need to be slapped down. That is never what I'm trying to do when I type, and if anything you read from me sounds offensive to you, I apologise for that in advance.
