I have to credit my father with giving me my love of history. When I was a little girl, I remember going to the cemetery with him. He would point out headstones here and there. Sometimes it was a Civil War veteran's headstone that would catch his interest, or he would show me a Mason's mark.

To my mother I would credit my love of books and knowledge. She always said that anything I wanted to know, I could find in a book. To this very day, I am an avid reader.

I suppose my love of genealogy was just a natural byproduct of this upbringing. I've always enjoyed listening to family stories. I look back now, wishing I had known to write them down. And so, here I am, so many years later, researching and capturing on paper, the little gems that make up our family's history.

What a blessing it is to have this website, not only to share the fruits of my own labors, but also to aid others in their search. Whether for genealogical purposes or for some other reason, I'm always glad to help where I can.
