Member: NSSAR, TNSSAR (Chairman, Graves & Landmarks Committee), Stephen Holston Chapter TNSSAR (President, 2023-2025), VASSAR, Gen. William Campbell Chapter VASSAR, Great Society of the War of 1812, Descendants of the Battle of King's Mountain, First Families of Tennessee and the National Society Descendants of American Farmers .

I have always had an interest in history, especially of our great nation.

I was bitten by the "bug" of genealogy in 2007 after visiting Ocracoke Island and much of the coastal area of North Carolina. It was a visceral sense that I had found "where home was," though, at that time, I had no idea of my family history beyond a few tidbits and even some erroneous stories.

In 2013 I attended my first international Davenport Family Gathering in Edenton, NC. It has been life-changing to meet relatives from all over the world and share information with them. I am an Albermarle Davenport, descended from Richard Davenport, who came to America in the mid-1650's.

In 2018 I was finally able to join the Son's of the American Revolution as a proven descendant of George Davenport (1749-1799). Since joining the NSSAR/TNSSAR (John Sevier Chapter) I have proven eight (8) more Supplemental Applications. Christopher Cooper (1750-1833), his father, Abraham Cooper (1725-1779), Major James Snodgrass (1762-1828), and his father, David Snodgrass (1725-1814), William Norton, who died at Valley Forge, Samuel Duff, Jr., Samuel Duff, Sr., and Francis Scott Cooper (Wife of Abraham, mother of Christopher). I also have submitted Supplemental Applications for John Peden, James Peden and Absolum Knox.

I am constantly searching for more information and have identified a number of other Patriot Ancestors that I have yet to prove officially, such as John Dodson, Thomas Whitlock, Benjamin Ward, Edward Ward, John Boyd, Hopewell Adams, John Crane, Andrew Carson, Joseph Barron, George Brandon, David Collins, Charles Dupree, Perry Gannon, William Gorton, William Hamilton, Stephen Harding, Abraham Hudson, John L Ingram, Edward Gaither Jacobs, Daniel Richards, Daniel Root, Joseph Thomas Smith, George Summers, James Summers, Hiram Tennison, Richard Tenpenny, William Tucker, Robert Tyler, Joseph Vance, Samuel Wilson & Moses Winters, etc.

Findagrave has been a valuable resource to me in my research, but I also enjoy documenting graves in various cemeteries, so I have enjoyed the features of findagrave that allow me to update, correct and share information with others.
