Find a Grave ID

Bio

I started my interest in cemeteries by helping my grandmother clean our family plot. The poetic inscriptions and the sculptures on the gravestones fascinated me. The gravestones seemed to me to be works of art that needed to be shared and preserved.

My interest then moved to genealogy when my daughter got a school assignment to trace her family roots. I got hooked on Find A Grave when I found my grandfather's grave and his Naval Service portrait while doing some random family line searches. The ultimate "hook" was when I found my husband's father's grave in Kentucky. He teared up - he had never seen it.

Family surnames I search are - Ackerman, Austin, Hargrove, Owens, Cummings, Crain, Crosby, Sineath, Crump, Horsley, Duncan.
